According to the butler of Cloud Mirror, some of the guests won’t come down the hill until they have harvested more than ten or even twenty jin of bamboos, while others can gain only one piece or two after hours of hard search. Bending all the time to look for the barely emerging bamboo shoots demand tremendous strength.
For digging bamboo shoots, on one hand, you’ve got to have good eyes, so that it is easier to find the bamboo shoots; on the other hand, you should be equipped with proper techniques: probing with your soles while walking around. Once you kick on something sharp and stiff, you may probably come across a spring bamboo shoots. We would like to share with you a secret that remains in the bamboo circle: the bamboo shoots that are still buried in the earth can be fresher and more tender than the exposed ones.
Once the bamboo is located, excavate the earth on one side, make sure of the hoeing point and the distance, sever the root with one powerful cut, and then harvest it as the hoe comes up.
